Here we go again - Trek2Share is going to Armenia. We leave on Aug 27. Our mission is to provide free joint replacements to patients who have lost their mobility, yet cannot afford to see a doctor. We will also provide education to local orthopaedic surgeons interested in modern techniques of arthroplasty.

Last year we started a collaboration with a local hospital in Yerevan, Armenia to identify patients who are unable to walk due to debilitating hip or knee arthritis, yet are unable to seek medical care because of severe financial limitations. In less than 3 months we identified over 50 such patients. We already received a grant for 30 patients to have joints replacements - an operation which can restore their ability to walk and function independently. During this trip a group of us will hike Mt. Aragac, the highest point in Armenia, to collect funds to help offset costs for perioperative care such as bandages, medications and walkers. We also hope to have funds to offer surgeries to additional patients.

Please consider joining our team as a fundraiser or donate to help give a gift of walking to these patients.
